In June, 2007, I participated in the examination for college student village cadres organized by the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee, and I was fortunate to be a village official. A student who just left school came to a village in Wenshui County as an assistant to the village head. The new job and new environment are a new test for me. My mood is both excited and nervous. I am glad that I want to work in the countryside and contribute to the construction of a new socialist countryside, but I am worried about whether I can adapt to it and carry out my work smoothly. Before taking up this post, I decided to constantly adapt to rural work in the process of adjustment and running-in, and gradually became familiar with the situation in the village through extensive contact with other village Committee staff and villagers, and gradually became full of optimism and self-confidence in this work. I will certainly appreciate the profound connotation of the words "the countryside is vast and promising".

The words "village official" and "favored by heaven" seem incongruous and even contradictory. However, as long as you have the heart, as long as you can actively adjust your emotions in the running-in period and work actively in the mature period, a college student will certainly be able to reflect his own value on the rural stage and make his own contribution to an excellent rural village official. If college students want to make a difference in rural areas, they must realize two changes. As long as the two changes are done well, we can successfully pass the running-in period and become useful talents in rural work.

First of all, we should realize the transformation from "classmates" to "comrades". I have been a student for more than ten years, and my main job is to learn and absorb knowledge, and then strengthen my knowledge and test my studies through exams. To go deep into the grassroots and be a good "village official assistant" means to use knowledge and use what you have learned to help you complete your work smoothly and with high quality; When I was a student, I was generally self-centered and focused on my studies. But as an "assistant village official", more attention should be paid to the harmony with the surrounding team members and villagers. Without harmonious relationship and the support of village committee members and villagers, there would be no platform for innovation and ideas, and the foundation for development would be lost.

Secondly, we should adapt to the transformation from "city" to "countryside". Recreational measures and infrastructure in rural areas are far less convenient than those in cities. At the beginning of work, this gap will cause our sense of loss and affect our work mood. Only by adapting to the gap and eliminating the sense of loss can we devote ourselves to rural work with peace of mind. On the one hand, we should actively adjust our mentality. Although the rural conditions are rather difficult, rural work is a glorious cause. Adapting to and making good use of relatively difficult conditions is not only a tempering of one's own quality and ability, but also a rare asset in life. On the other hand, we should face the reality, adapt to the environment, change the previous lifestyle and make up for this gap with rich life content. When I was a student, I basically passed the time by playing cards and singing. In rural areas where entertainment is relatively poor, you can use your spare time to study and exercise to enhance your physical and cultural qualities. This change in lifestyle will not only enable us to solve our sense of loss smoothly and join the rural work; But also conducive to the improvement of our own comprehensive quality and lay a solid hardware condition for our future development.

After gradually adapting to the working and living environment in rural areas, we also smoothly entered the "mature period" from the "running-in period". How to be competent in our own work and how to give full play to the advantages of our college students to promote the harmonious development of our village has become the most important topic.

First, form a "three emotions" work attitude.

First of all, we must have feelings for our administrative village. We should regard the countryside not only as our work unit, but also as our own hometown. This intimate relationship is conducive to fundamentally promoting communication between villagers and enhancing their sense of responsibility and service. Secondly, be enthusiastic about your work. The power of village officials is taken from the people, managed by the people, and provides various services for the villagers, which is the concrete embodiment of democratic centralism. However, as the most basic and lowest level of society, the specific work in rural areas is subtle, trivial and complicated. Bad attitude will directly lead to the tension between cadres and masses, and even lead to the overall instability of the village, which will bring serious consequences to the production and life of the village. Therefore, enthusiastic working attitude is an important factor to bring villagers closer and understand their needs. Third, we should always be passionate. The party and the government choose college students as assistant village officials because of their cultural quality and enthusiasm for innovation. On the one hand, we should get rid of the "student spirit" and get familiar with rural work; On the other hand, we should maintain the "student spirit", insist on raising new questions, and put forward new ideas and methods. Let these ideas and fresh ideas become good suggestions for the development of the village, which is a powerful part of the village's' trick group'.

Second, adhere to the work style of "three diligence and three realities"

For students who have just left the university campus, the countryside is an almost completely unfamiliar environment, and rural work is also a brand-new field of work, and there is no experience to learn from. Only by insisting on three diligence and three services, constantly exploring ways to do a good job and constantly summing up the gains and losses of the work can we become a qualified rural worker.

First of all, be diligent in your eyes and see things. The "village head assistant" is the staff of the village Committee. For the handling of daily problems, in addition to the village head's "opening class to teach", it is more necessary to observe with your own heart. For example, how to discourage illegal construction in villagers' villages, and what kind of policies are cited to explain their illegal behavior. "Seeing things" also requires us to be familiar with rural policies and regulations, so that we can explain relevant issues to villagers according to rules, which embodies the authority of work and improves work efficiency. Secondly, be diligent in asking questions. Rural areas are different from urban communities, and "one family in the whole village" is its typical feature. This makes it impossible for us to simply "talk about things". Ask more about the background of the village head and other village Committee staff to avoid problems that are difficult to solve because of the simple work style. Third, be diligent in getting things done. "A giant in words and a dwarf in action" will not work. The countryside is the most grass-roots organization, and the work done by grass-roots cadres is the most concrete and meticulous. Doing more work and helping more is the only key to open the work situation. Whether it is to assist the village committee to adjust villagers' contradictions and handle village affairs, or to assist the village head in sorting out materials, files and even cleaning up, we should take it seriously and finish it beautifully. Only by doing the work carefully and beautifully can we truly reflect the quality of college students.
