Nanchang University is a 2 1 1 engineering university. Nanchang University, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, founded in 192 1, has graduate school, humanities department, social science department, science and technology department, science and technology department and medical department; Nanchang University is divided into five campuses, namely Qianhu Campus, Donghu Campus, Qingshan Lake Campus (North Zone), Qingshan Lake Campus (South Zone) and Poyang Lake Campus.

Nanchang University, referred to as "Nanda", is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government. It is a "world-class discipline construction university" and a "2 1 1 engineering" construction university.

It has been selected into the comprehensive strength improvement project of universities in the central and western regions of China, the national postgraduate program for building high-level universities, the education and training program for excellent engineers, the education and training program for excellent doctors, the research and practice program for new engineering, the national innovation experiment program for college students and the national innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students.

China's first batch of demonstration universities to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, the first batch of universities' scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases, China's overseas students' China government scholarship institutions, Jiangxi's first batch of mass entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration bases, members of China-Central and Eastern European University Federation, members of Eurasian-Pacific University Alliance, members of "South Asia-Southeast Asia University Alliance", and "One Province, One School" national key construction university in the central and western regions (Z 14) alliance.

The school started in Jiangxi Public Medical College founded by 192 1 and National Chung Cheng University founded by 1940. 1993, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology merged to form Nanchang University. 1997, the school was listed as the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university. In 2004, the Ministry of Education signed an agreement with the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government to establish Nanchang University. In 2005, Nanchang University merged with Jiangxi Medical College to form the new Nanchang University.
