1. College, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology and the Second Branch of Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, was founded in 1978. 1985 The school was placed under the management of sinopec group. 1992 Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology was established on the basis of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology. In 2000, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology was placed under the management of Beijing Municipal People's Government.

2. As of February 2023, the College has three campuses, namely Qingyuan, Kangzhuang and Yanshan, with a total area of 466 mu and a construction area of 296,000 square meters.
