1952 In July, the first chemical technical school in New China was born in Shenyang. It is the predecessor of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology-"Shenyang Chemical Vocational and Technical School". Zhang zhen, an important leader of the new China chemical industry and weapons industry, served as the vice minister of petrochemical industry and the fifth minister of machinery, and later served as the first president of the school.
1In August, 958, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate course with the name of "shenyang institute of chemical technology", which is one of the six universities in China specializing in training senior chemical talents. Guo Moruo, former president of China Academy of Sciences, inscribed the name of the school. 1960 in order to meet the needs of the country's development of cutting-edge science and emerging disciplines, the school was renamed "Liaoning University of Science and Technology", which belongs to Liaoning Branch of China Academy of Sciences.
1962, in order to adapt to the great development of the national chemical industry, the subordinate relationship of the school was changed to the Ministry of Chemical Industry; From 65438 to 0998, the national management system of colleges and universities was adjusted, and the schools were jointly established by the central and local governments, with local management as the mainstay.
After more than 60 years' construction and development, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology has become an institution of higher learning focusing on engineering and featuring chemical engineering, integrating engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law and medicine. The school is a "double-first-class" key construction university in Liaoning Province and a key construction university in the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest".
