Human rights jurisprudence is a new and important research direction in legal theory. It focuses on the international and domestic human rights legal system and its practice, highlights the humanistic concept in the legal system, observes and analyzes the historical track and trend of human rights development, reveals the rich and extensive content of human rights, studies the basic human rights standards in international law, and explains the relationship between human rights and various social factors such as politics, economy and culture, thus providing theoretical guidance for contemporary legislation and justice.
The Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of China University of Political Science and Law is an independent interdisciplinary academic institution established and directly managed by China University of Political Science and Law, which specializes in the research, teaching, training, consulting, information construction, exchange and cooperation of human rights law and humanitarian law. China University of Political Science and Law is also the only university in China that offers a major in human rights law at this stage, enrolling doctoral and master students in human rights law. In September 2005, the first batch of graduate students were enrolled. At the same time, China Academy of Social Sciences, Guangzhou University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shandong University and other universities also have human rights law research institutions.
