Henan University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as HEUST) is located in Luoyang, Henan Province. It is one of the three comprehensive universities approved by the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Henan Province, supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in central and western China, the national demonstration university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, one of the three key universities in Henan Province, and the national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel.
The school 1952 was established in Beijing, the capital. 1956, in order to meet the needs of the construction and layout of the national industrial base, it was moved to Luoyang, and later renamed Luoyang Institute of Technology, which belongs to the Ministry of Machinery Industry.
1998, transferred to Henan province for management. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government merged Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College to form Henan University of Science and Technology.
