1, Peking University
Peking University is the only school established as the highest institution of higher learning in modern China. 2. Nanjing University
Nanjing University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). The school was founded in 1902 Sanjiang Normal School. Later 1950 was renamed Nanjing University, including Liangjiang Normal University, Nanjing Higher Normal University, National Southeast University and National Central University.

Its predecessor is Fudan College founded by 1905, and it is one of the earliest private institutions of higher learning in China. Beijing Normal University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Beijing. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "985 project" and "2 1 1 project" and is one of the first ten key universities built during the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan.
5. Nanjing Normal University
Nanjing Normal University is a national "double-class" construction university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is the first batch of key construction universities in the national "2 1 1 Project" and a high-level university in Jiangsu Province. The main source of the school can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School founded in 1902, which is one of the birthplaces of higher normal education in China.
