Aalto University was merged from three top universities in their respective fields-Helsinki University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics and Helsinki University of Art and Design on August 1 2009, with Tuula Teeri as the first president of Aalto University. Aalto University is a foundation university. Before 20 10, the foundation raised 700 million euros, including 500 million euros from the Finnish government and 200 million euros from the industrial and commercial circles under the coordination of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Aalto University was officially named to commemorate the famous Finnish architect alvar aalto. The College of Art and Design of Aalto University is an international college dedicated to design, audio-visual communication and art education. Offering undergraduate, master and doctoral courses in art, design, new media, art education, visual culture, film, animation and product design. Aalto University Business School is the largest and leading business school in Finland, providing a world-class learning and research environment in the business field. At present, the School of Economics has three international certifications of business administration education, namely, AMBA(Association of MBAs) issued by Britain, EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System) in Europe and AACSB in the United States. At present, only 35 universities in the world have obtained these three certifications at the same time. The School of Economics of Aalto University offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in a wide range of economic fields, as well as MBA programs in business fields. The School of Economics has two campuses, and the main campus is located in the center of Helsinki. On this campus, the college offers bachelor's degrees and 15 master's programs, including CEMS MIM.
