Magnolia grandiflora, deciduous tree, 25 meters high, DBH 1 meter, with widely spread branches, forming a broad crown; Bark is dark gray, rough and cracked; Branchlets slightly stout, grayish brown; Winter buds and pedicels are densely covered with gray-yellow filiform hairs. The leaves are papery, obovate, broadly obovate, or obovate-elliptic, with slender and oval base, length10-15 (18) cm and width 6- 10 (12) cm.

The apex is broad and round, truncated or slightly concave, short spike-shaped, tapering into a wedge below the middle part, the leaves are dark green and pilose when tender, but still pilose after midvein and lateral vein, and the lower part is light green and pilose along the vein, with 8- 10 lateral veins on both sides, and the reticulate vein is obvious; Petiole length 1-2.5 cm, pilose, upper mask narrow and vertical; Stipule scar is 1/4- 1/3 of petiole length.

Magnolia grandiflora is one of the rare garden trees unique to China. It is native to the Yangtze River valley, and it is still wild in Lushan, Huangshan and Emei Mountain. Magnolia is native to the central province of China, and is now cultivated in Beijing and south of the Yellow River Basin. In ancient times, it was planted in front of pavilions. Now it is more common in gardens, factories and mines, solitary planting, scattered planting, or roadside trees on both sides of the road. There are also potted plants with heaps of scenery in the north.

Yulan is located in Shanghai, Lianyungang, Chaozhou, Foshan and Xiayi counties.
