Mei Yiqi (1889.12.29-1962.5.19), a native of Wujin, Jiangsu, is the eldest son of Mei Zengchen. His ancestors moved from Jiangnan to Beijing in the Ming Dynasty and later settled in Tianjin. The first batch of G-style students studying in the United States, 19 14, returned from Worcester Institute of Technology. He has served as a faculty member in Tsinghua University, a professor in the Department of Physics, a provost, and 193 1- 1948 as the president of Tsinghua University. 1955, Tsinghua University was founded in Hsinchu, Taiwan Province Province, and served as the principal.
During his tenure as president of Tsinghua University, Mei Yiqi laid the foundation of Tsinghua and made indelible contributions to Tsinghua University. During this period, teachers are strictly selected and hired, and a collective leadership system is implemented. He, Ye, Pan Guangdan and Chen Yinque are also called the four great philosophers in Tsinghua's century-old history.
