Tongji University Law School, founded in 1945, is famous for its research and teaching of civil law. Famous jurists such as Xu Daolin, Xie Huaiyi and Chen Shengqing once gathered here. Tongji university resumed the discipline of law 1994. Since 1998, in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Center (DAAD), the Department of Economic Law has been established in the Sino-German College of our school. In 2003, with the support of China National Intellectual Property Administration and Max Planck Institute of Intellectual Property, Tongji University Institute of Intellectual Property was established. In recent years, the school has optimized the resources of the Law Department, Intellectual Property College and Economic Law Department of Sino-German College, and restored the establishment of the Law School.

At present, the law school has the right to award bachelor of laws, master of laws and doctor of laws. There are 60 faculty members, including professors 15, associate professors 17, 2 foreign teachers, 8 teachers with doctoral degrees1%,and 50% teachers with overseas study background. The total number of students exceeds 700. In the past three years, * * * accepted 143 international exchange students mainly from European countries.
