Textile College of Donghua University started at 195 1. It is the college with the longest running history and the strongest academic strength, and it is also the first college in China to award bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees. Textile science and engineering, with Textile Institute as the main carrier, was selected as the national "double-first-class" construction discipline and A+ discipline in 20 17, and has been in the leading position in the country.
The college offers three undergraduate majors, such as textile engineering, as well as the double bachelor's degree project of "textile engineering+product design" and textile engineering. Textile engineering majors set up five training directions: textile materials, intelligent textiles, knitted garments, textile design and industrial economy, and high-tech textiles.
Textile engineering major is the trump card major of Donghua University and a national major. Selected into the national first-class undergraduate professional construction site, and passed the national engineering education professional certification twice.

School history can be traced back to Nantong Textile Printing and Dyeing Institute founded by Zhang Jian in 19 12. The school was founded in 195 1, named East China Institute of Textile Technology, which was formed by the merger of the Textile Department of Jiaotong University and other textile departments in East China, Central South and Southwest China. 1985 was renamed China Textile University, and 1999 was renamed Donghua University.
