I'm reading Fifty Literary Works Affecting China recently. The first one is "Four Books and Five Classics". The four books are: The Analects of Confucius; Five Classics: The Book of Songs, the Book of Rites and the Book of Changes During the Spring and Autumn Period, the ancient ruling class was mainly used to unify people's thoughts and restrain people's behavior as a tool for people to be loyal to the ruling class. However, the four books and five classics, especially the guidance of the four books on people's behavior and thoughts, are also of great value to the cultivation and cultivation of people's moral behavior today.

The behavior program of being well-known, being close to the people and stopping at perfection, and the cultivation steps of seeking truth, erudition, sincerity, integrity, self-cultivation, keeping the family in order, governing the country and leveling the world make people have goals, be practical and easy to operate, which has profound enlightenment to today's ideological and political education.

Nowadays, there are many superficial things in education, focusing on doing things for the country, the people and the society. There are more external things than internal things, which is not easy for people to accept fundamentally, especially for the purpose of changing people's thinking and behavior. In contrast, the Four Books and Five Classics advise people to pursue their own self-cultivation, pursue people's noble ideological and moral sentiments and cultivate high-quality people, and finally realize social progress, development and stability. The people-oriented concept advocated by our party is similar to this view and deserves further discussion.
