During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Wuhan fell, and the Japanese invaders occupied Wuhan. In order to make Wuhan a city with Japanese flavor, the leader of the Japanese invaders airlifted more than 20 cherry saplings from Japan, because the weather in Wuhan is particularly warm and humid, which is suitable for the growth of cherry blossoms. Because China was enslaved by Japanese education at that time, the earliest cherry trees in China were planted in Luokashan Campus, the predecessor of Wuhan University. It means that this cherry blossom has been preserved. Later, after the establishment of Wuhan University, although the school considered removing these cherry blossoms from this paper, considering that this is a national humiliation, students and teachers must be deeply impressed, so these cherry blossoms have been preserved until now.
/kloc-in the 1970s, Japan and China broke the ice and established diplomatic relations again. Many Japanese friends gave several cherry saplings to Premier Zhou Enlai through various channels. Later, when Premier Zhou visited Southern University, he chose to give them to Wu Da. Because of this, Wuhan University has more cherry trees.
In order to expand the campus,1In the 1990s, the president of Wuhan University specially introduced cherry blossoms specially cultivated in China from Moshan Botanical Garden in East Lake, and began to plant them next to the school hospital.
During the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Japan 1992, some Japanese folk friends in China once again presented hundreds of cherry saplings to China. Because in the eyes of the Japanese, the flower language of cherry blossoms is the flower of friendship. They really want to extend a friendly and honest hand to us and become friends with us. On the other hand, we leave these cherry trees in China, which can also remind us that they are flowers of national humiliation. We will never forget the national humiliation, work hard and strive for the rise of China!
As mentioned above, there are many cherry blossoms on the campus of Wuhan University. Because of these cherry blossoms, Wuhan University becomes a tourist attraction every March. At the same time, it also reminds us that college students don't forget national humiliation. Colorful cherry blossoms bring us not only beauty, but also encouragement.
