Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, located in Beijing, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It ranks among the national "Double First-class" construction universities, "21Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform", and is a founding member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance, China Artificial Intelligence Education Association and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, founded in 1955, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, is the first post and telecommunications institution in People's Republic of China (PRC), under the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. 1960 was identified as a national key university by the State Council. 1993, renamed as "Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications". In 2000, it was listed in the ranks of universities directly under the Ministry of Education.

As of May 2023, the school has Haidian Campus and Changping Campus; There are 18 teaching units and graduate schools, offering 52 undergraduate majors; There are 7 postdoctoral research mobile stations, one-level discipline authorization point 1 1 (including interdisciplinary authorization point 1), 24 first-level discipline authorization points, one professional doctor authorization point 1, and two professional master authorization points1.
