Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine is a national "double-class" university and a high-level university in Jiangsu Province. It is a university founded by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine. Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, founded in 1954, is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. Since its founding 64 years ago, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has sent the first batch of teachers, presided over the compilation of the first set of teaching materials and syllabus, and gave birth to the earliest teaching staff in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, which has made important contributions to the establishment and popularization of the new China higher Chinese medicine education model and is known as the "cradle of higher Chinese medicine education" in China.
The school is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of Yu Xiu, Zhong Ling, and has two campuses, Xianlin and Hanzhongmen. At present, there are nearly 20,000 students in various schools such as Basic Medical College, First Clinical Medical College, Second Clinical Medical College, Third Clinical Medical College, School of Medicine and Life Sciences, Integrated Medical College, School of Pharmacy, School of Health and Economic Management, School of Nursing, School of Foreign Languages, School of International Education, School of Information Technology, School of Psychology, School of International Economics, Graduate School, School of Continuing Education and School of Humanities and Political Education, with 33 undergraduate majors.
The school has 1 national first-class key disciplines, 2 national second-class key disciplines and 2 national key (cultivation) disciplines; The second phase of Jiangsu University's dominant discipline construction project was approved by 2 disciplines and 2 key sequence disciplines; Key disciplines in Jiangsu Province 10; There are 33 key disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine in state administration of traditional chinese medicine. Clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology rank in the top of ESI global rankings 1%. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, the three main disciplines of Chinese medicine, Chinese pharmacy and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine all entered Class A, and the school was one of the first batch of authorized units for master's and doctor's degrees in China. At present, there are four first-level doctoral programs in traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine and nursing, covering two disciplines.
