Four forms of teacher-student relationship
There are four forms of teacher-student relationship: antagonistic teacher-student relationship, dependent teacher-student relationship, laissez-faire teacher-student relationship and democratic teacher-student relationship.

First, the antagonistic teacher-student relationship is characterized by command, authority, obedience and alienation. Teachers don't love and respect students enough, and students lack understanding of teachers. They dare not obey on the surface, but resist behind their backs. The relationship between teachers and students is alienated and even tense.

Second, the dependent teacher-student relationship mainly means that teachers do everything for students, and the lack of self-management easily leads to students' self-criticism, laziness, cowardice and inferiority. The relationship between teachers and students in lower grades is mostly dependent.

Thirdly, the laissez-faire teacher-student relationship is characterized by disorder, arbitrariness and indulgence. Teachers are not responsible for their work, lack feelings for students, are indifferent to students' problems and adopt a laissez-faire attitude. Students are also indifferent to teachers and treat teachers' requirements negatively. There is little communication between teachers and students, no obvious conflict and confrontation, and the relationship is cold.

Fourth, the democratic teacher-student relationship is characterized by openness, equality and mutual assistance. Teachers love, care, respect and trust students, and educate students with their own authority, knowledge, talent and morality. There are many democratic relationships between teachers and students in senior grades, especially in universities.
