Brief introduction of Wuhan University of Technology
Wuhan University of Technology is located in Wuhan. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a national "double-class" university, and a university built by "21engineering" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform".
Established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Hubei Provincial People's Government, it has been selected into the "11plan", the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities, the new engineering research and practice project, the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students in China, and the national college students' cultural quality education base.
The school originated from 1898. Governor Zhang Zhidong of Huguang invited the Qing government to establish Hubei Technical School. On May 27th, 2000, it was formed by the merger of Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Jiaotong University and Wuhan Automobile Institute.
Wuhan University of Technology originated from 1948 China People's Liberation Army Northeast Military Region Ministry of Industry Professional School. 1978 was identified as a national key institution, 1985 was renamed Wuhan university of technology, and 1998 was transferred from the former state building materials bureau to the Ministry of education as the director.
Wuhan Jiaotong University originated from 1946 National Maritime Vocational School. After inheritance and development, it was renamed Wuhan Jiaotong University on 1993, which was under the former Ministry of Communications. Wuhan University of Automobile Technology 1958 originated from Wuhan University of Technology, and 1995 was renamed Wuhan University of Automobile Technology, which was affiliated to the former China Automobile Industry Group Corporation.
By June 5438+ 10, 2023, the school has three campuses, namely Mafangshan, Yujiatou and Nanhu, covering an area of more than 4,000 mu, with a total construction area of 654.38+0.953 million square meters. There are 25 colleges offering 100 undergraduate majors;
There are 22 doctoral programs in first-class disciplines, 45 master programs in first-class disciplines, and postdoctoral research stations 17; There are 5 categories of doctoral degree authorization and 25 categories of master degree authorization; There are 5,296 faculty members and more than 37,000 undergraduates.
