Northeast Li Dian University, TEPCO for short, is a key university in Jilin Province and was selected as the first batch of key universities in the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education. The school is one of the first construction units of the National Engineering Practice Education Center, a scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel, a national cultural quality education base for college students, and a national social sports talent training and scientific research base. 20 16 joined the "global energy internet development cooperation organization", and in the same year initiated to join the "China smart metering industry technology innovation strategic alliance", China electric power university alliance and CDIO engineering education alliance.

Founded in 1949, the school is the first electric power engineering school established in New China. 1958 was named Jilin electric power institute, and 1978 was renamed northeast china institute of electric power.
