Article 1 In order to encourage students' personality development and improve their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in learning, the school allows students with outstanding academic achievements and real expertise to choose their own majors. The school encourages students to transfer to basic disciplines and majors urgently needed by the country's economic construction and social development.
Article 2 Choosing a major independently is an action taken by our school when the first-year undergraduates of various majors enter the second-year study. On the basis of students' voluntary participation, the school will, within the specified time and in line with the principles of fairness, justice and openness, handle the issue of students changing their majors in a unified way after examination. The purpose is to expand students' autonomy in choosing majors, give full play to their learning potential, and realize the coordination between their learning ability and their professional interests.
Article 3 Two-way choice shall be made for changing majors, and the college (department) where the major is transferred shall be selected on the best basis.
Article 4 The optional major shall be implemented at the end of the second semester of Senior One. Students who are allowed to transfer majors enter the second year of transfer majors. Students' completion of the first-year teaching plan of the original major is generally equivalent to the completion of the first-year teaching plan of changing majors, but it should be adjusted appropriately according to the specific situation.
Fifth meet the following conditions, you can apply for independent choice of major:
1. Applicants' GPA is generally above 3.4, and the requirements for GPA will be adjusted every year according to the situation;
2. If you really have expertise, it is more beneficial to transfer to a new major.
3 due to special reasons such as illness or physical defects, it is really necessary to transfer to other majors, with reference to the relevant provisions of the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Credit System for Undergraduate Students in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics".
Article 6 Under any of the following circumstances, you may not apply for choosing your own major:
1. Being punished for violating discipline after entering school;
2. Welcome new students, Wei Peisheng;
3. Should drop out of school;
4. Failing compulsory courses or having an average score of less than 80 in advanced mathematics and English;
5. As confirmed by the school, other majors are not suitable for independent choice.
Seventh independent choice of major should be handled according to the following procedures:
1. On the basis of consultation with relevant colleges (departments), the Academic Affairs Office will draw up the self-selected professional catalogue and quota according to the adjustment ability of relevant majors and the overall situation of the whole school, and after the approval of the school, the Academic Affairs Office will announce it to students in advance;
2. For students' individual application, fill in the Application Form for Students' Self-selected Major of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and submit it to the Academic Affairs Office together with my transcript and related materials after being reviewed by the Academic Affairs Office, and then deliver it to the relevant transfer college (department);
3. The transfer school (department) organizes a special assessment team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the students applying for transfer, determine the transfer candidates, and post them for publicity;
4. The Academic Affairs Office shall conduct preliminary examination after receiving the applications and related materials of students who have transferred out and transferred to the college (department) and agreed to choose their own majors, and go through the formalities of changing majors after reporting to the school for approval.
Article 8 After students choose their own major, they must complete the required courses and credits in accordance with the requirements of the teaching plan for transferring to a major before graduation.
Article 9 The Academic Affairs Office shall be responsible for the interpretation of these Interim Measures.
Article 10 These Interim Measures shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation.
