19 14 (in the third year of the Republic of China), the official Shandong university hall was closed according to the regulations, and the teachers and students were transferred to six specialized schools in Shandong Province, including politics, agriculture, commerce, engineering, mining and medicine, all of which offered foreign language courses. 1926 Six junior colleges merged to form Shandong University, offering English and Japanese as compulsory courses.
On September 20th, 1930, National Qingdao University was established on the basis of provincial Shandong University and private Qingdao University. The Department of Foreign Literature was formally established, which belongs to the College of Literature. 1994 was renamed Foreign Languages Institute. In 2000, it merged with the former Foreign Languages Department of Shandong Polytechnic University and the Foreign Languages Department of Shandong Medical University to form a new Foreign Languages College.
In the long course of development, hundreds of famous scholars have taught here, including Liang Shiqiu, Hong Shen, Zhao Taimou, Sun Dayu, Zhao Shaohou, Ling Dayang, yuan zhenying, Liang Xiyan, Luo Niansheng, Huang Jiade, Wu Fuheng, Zhang Jian, Jin Shibo, Lu Fan, Jin Zhong and Liu. They created a high starting point of Foreign Languages Institute, and created a distinctive school-running model and excellent governance.
