Changsha University of Science and Technology, referred to as Changsha University of Science and Technology for short, is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, science, management and economics for the Ministry of Transport and the Hunan Provincial People's Government.

Changsha Institute of Technology (CSUST), located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, was formed by the merger of Changsha Jiaotong University and Changsha Electric Power College in 2003. It is a basic capacity-building project for universities in the central and western regions.
