Discipline evaluation is the overall level evaluation of the first-class disciplines with the right to confer doctoral or master's degrees in China by the Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education. The fourth round of subject evaluation was launched in April, 20 16. According to the principle of "voluntary application and free participation", objective evaluation and subjective evaluation were combined.
The evaluation results are presented in the form of "grading". According to the ranking percentile of "overall level score of disciplines", the top 70% of disciplines are published in 9 grades: the top 2% (or the top 2) are A+, 2% ~ 5% are A (excluding 2%, the same below), and 5% ~ 10% are A-.
