The Humanities Department of Zhejiang University is composed of Humanities College, Foreign Language Culture and International Exchange College and Media and International Culture College. It has an academic committee, a degree committee, a teaching committee and a human resources committee. The humanities department has a comprehensive office.

The humanities department covers literature, history and philosophy. There are six first-class disciplines: China language and literature, foreign language and literature, journalism and communication, art, history and philosophy, and 38 two disciplines, including China classical philology, China ancient literature, English language and literature, foreign philosophy, China ancient history, literature and art.

The humanities department has 17 undergraduate majors, 38 master's degree authorization points and 28 doctoral degree authorization points, among which philosophy, China language and literature and history are first-class disciplines, foreign language and literature are first-class disciplines, and China language and literature and history have two post-doctoral mobile stations.
