At present, there are12 "211engineering" colleges in northwest China, including Northwest University, Xi Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, xidian university, Chang 'an University, Northwest A&F University, Shaanxi Normal University, Dahe Shihezi University in Xinjiang, Lanzhou University in Gansu, Qinghai University and Ningxia.
The powerful universities in northwest China are mainly concentrated in Xi 'an, the political, economic and cultural center of northwest China. There are 47 "2 1 1 engineering" key universities and ordinary universities in Xi, including Xi Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi University of Electronic Science and Technology, and Northwest University, and 32 private universities, with more than 10,000 master's and doctoral graduates each year.
The heavy industry in the northwest is dominant in the industrial structure, but because the economic development in the northwest needs more professionals who can take root in the local area and have certain professional skills, and the northwest is rich in natural resources (rivers, agriculture), oil resources and mineral energy, the universities in the northwest are mainly workers and peasants.
Two. Introduction of Northwest China
Northwest China is a region in the northwest inland of China, including the western Daxinganling Mountains, Kunlun Mountains-Altun Mountains-Qilian Mountains and the north of the Great Wall, including Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and northwest Gansu Province.
The annual precipitation in the northwest of China has decreased from about 400 mm in the east to 200 mm or even below 50 mm in the west. Drought is the main natural feature of this region (temperate continental semi-arid, arid and alpine climate respectively).
The topography of northwest China is mainly plateau, basin and mountain. The loess plateau, Hetao plain, Ningxia plain and Hexi plain are the main areas in the northwest and east. The mountains and rivers in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region alternate: Altai Mountain, Junggar Basin, Tianshan Mountain, Tarim Basin, Kunlun Mountain, Altun Mountain, Turpan Basin, Tarim River and Taklimakan Desert.
Rich in mineral resources. The reserves of coal, oil, natural gas, rare earth, iron, nickel, gold, salt and precious stones are relatively large.
The traffic situation is very important. Lianhuo Expressway, Beijing-Tibet Expressway, baotou-lanzhou railway, Longhai Railway and Lan Xin Railway. Longhai Railway and Lan Xin Railway are part of Eurasia Continental Bridge.
