With the consent of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, the Jiangxi Provincial Government appointed Academician Chen as the president of Nanchang University, and comrades no longer served as deputy secretary and president of Nanchang University.

Nanchang University, located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a national "double first-class" construction university, which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province and is the overall first-class university in Jiangxi Province. It is the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the main node unit of CERNET of the Ministry of Education, the executive director unit of China Education Exchange Association, the demonstration base for studying in China of the Ministry of Education, the overseas study training base of the study abroad service center of the Ministry of Education, and the national Chinese training base.
