A Brief Introduction to the Author of Theory of International Politics
Kenneth N. Waltz was born in June, 1924 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. He received his master's degree and doctor's degree in political science from Columbia University in 1950 and 1954 respectively, and taught at Columbia University and University of California, Berkeley. He has served as a member of the American Foreign Policy Committee and the president of the American School of Political Science, and won the "james madison Award for Outstanding Academic Contribution in Political Science". 1994 retired, honorary professor for life in the Department of Political Science, University of California, Berkeley. His major works are Man, State and War (1959), Foreign Policy and Democratic Politics (1967) and International Political Theory (1979). Among them, The Theory of International Politics has been hailed as a "contemporary classic" since its publication, and it is by far the most influential and cited work in the field of international relations.

Xin Qiang, a native of Handan in northern China, was born in 1975. In 2002, he graduated from the School of International Relations of Fudan University with a doctor of law. Now he is the deputy director, associate professor and part-time lawyer of American Studies Center of Fudan University. He is also the deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Fudan University and the assistant to the president of the Institute of International Studies. His main research fields are American politics, Taiwan Province Province issues, international relations theory, etc. Special researcher of China Institute of Peace and Development, member of academic committee of Shanghai Institute of East Asian Studies. 2006 54 38+0-2002 Visiting and studying in American University, during which I worked as an intern in the House of Representatives of the United States Congress for nearly one year. The monograph "Semi-autonomous Congress and Taiwan Province Province: Diplomatic Behavior Model of the US Congress" was selected into the reference series of central leaders. Up to now, seven other co-authored and translated works have been published, and more than 20 academic papers have been published in Japan, Chinese mainland, China, Taiwan Province Province, Hongkong and other places, such as American Studies, American Studies, European Studies and World Economy and Politics.
