What is a public elective course?
Public * * * courses refer to the courses that candidates of any major or some similar majors must study in the self-study examination of higher education. It is usually chosen at the end of a semester or in the first week of school. Unlike professional courses, public elective courses are optional.

Public elective course is a course during college. There are two or three courses for students to choose from at the beginning of sophomore year. Students who study well may choose all of them and almost choose one subject. Therefore, public elective courses can be more or less selected according to students' learning ability and learning preference, which is different from compulsory courses.

Although public courses are not necessarily directly related to the majors they study, they are aimed at cultivating talents with all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique.
