School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University (formerly Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering) was founded in 1935. It is one of the oldest and strongest colleges in Chongqing University and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.
In the past 80 years, the School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University has been adhering to the school tenet of "researching academics, cultivating talents and inspiring the country" and the school motto of "being diligent and thrifty, being diligent in learning and loving the country", working hard, pioneering and enterprising, taking the national demand and industry goals as the guide, insisting on talent training as the foundation, focusing on education, teaching and scientific research, and taking serving the social and cultural heritage as its own responsibility.
Over the past 80 years, under the guidance of experts and scholars of the older generation, such as Shi Xiheng, Min, Wu, Liu Yilun, Wang Jiqiang, Jiang Zejia, Gu Optimism, Sun Caixin, etc. Generation after generation of great electricians have devoted their true feelings and sweat to the education of the motherland and integrated their wisdom and responsibility into the talent cultivation and economic construction of our country.
Combined with the social demand for the four functions of university personnel training, scientific research, social service and cultural inheritance and innovation, with the strategy of "taking root in Chongqing, serving the whole country and going to the world", guided by the development frontier and national demand of electrical engineering discipline, with undergraduate education as the main body and foundation, postgraduate education as the level and vitality, and based on the training of electrical engineering professionals, the school-running orientation of the college is determined.
Over the past 80 years, nearly 30,000 graduates have moved from the college to all directions, making outstanding contributions to the modernization of the motherland and extending the college to a vast social space and the forefront of the times.
There are currently 89 faculty members1person, full-time teachers 14 1 person, including 6 professors (researchers)1person, 49 associate professors and 67 doctoral supervisors, including 23 national talents and 75 provincial and ministerial talents. Among the full-time teachers, 85.8% have doctoral degrees, and 65.7% have studied abroad for more than half a year. There are more than 2,500 students in the college, including about 200 doctoral students, about 800 master students and more than 500 undergraduates/kloc-0.
