It is true that Fu Jen is directly under the Holy See (the president is also appointed by the Pope), but students will not be forced to believe in religion, but there will be some related activities, and whether they can participate depends on their own wishes. The advantage of Fu Jen directly affiliated to Fu Jen is that their academic qualifications are more internationally recognized than those of other private universities and new national universities, and it is undeniable that there should not be too many studies that deviate from religious ethics in education and academics. However, this is similar in any university, and they all have the consciousness of free thinking. Therefore, as a student of Fu Jen Catholic University, my personal feelings are not too great.

I don't know the level of the mainland and can't provide advice. Although the history department is not as good as the well-known national university (National Taiwan University), its level is not bad.

The ranking of universities in Taiwan Province Province is as follows: established national universities (diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Qing Dynasty) → established private universities (Furen-Tamkang-Soochow) → new national universities (community college restructuring) → new private or technological universities.

Generally speaking, Fu Jen's ranking in universities in Taiwan Province Province is good, and it is also recognized in enterprises. Religious views are completely open. In addition to priests and nuns, many students in my school are monks and nuns, and they have met Muslims (although they don't quite understand why they dress like this in class, they get used to it after a long time), so they are quite tolerant.
