Beijing university of chemical technology, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, was founded in 1958. It is a high-level university established in New China to "train advanced chemical technicians needed for the development of frontier science".

After more than 60 years of construction, beijing university of chemical technology has developed into a key interdisciplinary university with a solid foundation in science, strong strength in engineering, and distinctive features in management, economy, law, literature, education, philosophy and medicine. It has formed a multi-level talent training pattern from undergraduate education to postgraduate, doctoral, postdoctoral and international student education.
The school has 17 colleges, with more than 5500 full-time undergraduates/kloc-0, more than 8600 graduate students (including doctors 1400), more than 2200 students in continuing education such as correspondence and night university, and 350 international students with academic qualifications.
The school has a strong faculty. Vigorously implement the strategy of "strengthening the school with talents".
