Wu Cangping's life
Born in 1922,1941-kloc-0/946, graduated from the Economics Department of Lingnan University in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, and studied in new york University and Columbia University in 1948- 1 year and obtained MBA degrees. 195 1 After returning to China, he taught statistics, demography and gerontology in China Renmin University and engaged in research. Since 197 1, he has been engaged in demography teaching and research, and participated in the establishment of population research institute, population research magazine, population department and gerontology institute. He has served as deputy director, vice president, director and director of academic Committee of departments, institutes and research centers. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Seventh and Eighth China People's Political Consultative Conference, a counselor of the Beijing Municipal Government from 2000 to 2005, a member of the Central Committee of China Democratic League, and a vice chairman of Beijing. Now he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Population Studies of China Renmin University. He is a pioneer in demography and gerontology in China, and the first batch of master's and doctoral tutors in demography in China. 1996 won the second China Population Award (Science Award). He used to be the president of China Gerontology Society, the vice president of China Population Society, the honorary president of Beijing Population Society, the honorary director of Beijing Aging Research Center, and the head of the expert group of China Aging Association. He used to be a member of the Fifth CPPCC, the Sixth CPPCC, the Standing Committee of the Seventh and Eighth CPPCC in Beijing, and served as a counselor of the Beijing Municipal Government from 2000 to 2005. He served twice as the Standing Committee of the NLD Central Committee and twice as the Vice Chairman of Beijing.
