Only three universities in Sichuan Province offer psychology majors, and 15 universities offer applied psychology majors. Applied psychology belongs to an important branch of psychology.

Schools offering applied psychology include Xichang College, Sichuan University of Arts and Science, Chengdu Medical College, Sichuan Institute of Technology, Luzhou Medical College, Mianyang Normal University, neijiang normal College, Yibin College, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Southwest University for Nationalities, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu College and sichuan police college.
