Sichuan Normal University established the Institute of Fashion in 2003, with the combination of arts and crafts as its main feature, and devoted itself to cultivating compound applied talents with distinctive specialties, employment advantages, entrepreneurial ability, foundation improvement and development space. The enrollment majors of the college in 20 13 years include five undergraduate, specialist or professional directions: fashion and fashion design, fashion design and engineering, performance (fashion performance), product design and fashion design (specialty).

The Institute of Fashion has 150 full-time and part-time faculty members. The College attaches great importance to the cultivation and improvement of students' comprehensive quality, and actively encourages and organizes students to participate in various professional competitions at all levels, including hempel Prize China International Young Designer Fashion Competition, China Jeanswest Cup Casual Wear Design Competition, Gage Cup Asia-Pacific T-shirt Design Competition, Li Ning Cup Design Competition, New Silk Road China Model Competition, CCTV Model TV Competition, China Supermodel Competition Finals, etc., and has achieved remarkable results in a series of major competitions. Since 2004, it has won various awards for many times in succession, providing a good platform for students to combine theory with practice. 2008: College student Li Chao won the female model championship in the New Silk Road Model Contest. Feng Xiang won the third place in the International Finals of the Oriental International Model Contest. Shark Wang and Kuang Miao won the Best Design Award in the First Leisure Pants Design Competition in China. Sculpture "Forward", photography "Migrant Workers" and dance "Creativity" won the first prize of sculpture, the second prize of photography and the third prize of dance in Sichuan University Students Art Festival.

The college actively encourages students to continue their studies. In addition to recommending outstanding fresh graduates to study for master's degree without examination, we also actively establish academic exchange platforms with well-known universities at home and abroad. In February 2008, four outstanding students were sent to Seoul Women's University in South Korea to study.
