Jiangsu University, located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, is a national key university jointly established by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a Class A construction university in the "Jiangsu High-level University Construction Summit Plan", and was selected as the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" universities of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of national "key discipline projects" construction universities, and the first batch of national graduate employment typical experience universities.

The history of the school can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School founded by Liu Kunyi and Zhang Zhidong in 1902. Schools such as Nanjing University and Nanjing Institute of Technology continued their string songs.
