The school is located in Ji 'an City, Jiangxi Province, and was founded in 1958. Jinggangshan University is a key university supported by Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and Ministry of Education. It is also a counterpart university supported by Tongji University. It is a full-time comprehensive university integrating postgraduate education, general undergraduate education and international student education. The school has an existing campus area of 2,440 mu and a school building area of more than 680,000 square meters.
