Employment direction

Employment direction

Development prospect: Civil engineering specialty can be divided into two different directions: road and bridge engineering and construction engineering. In the career, the positions in these two directions have both general unity and specific differences in details. Generally speaking, the main employment directions of civil engineering majors are as follows:

Engineering technology direction

Employment prospects: Just as we see the high-rise buildings around us constantly rising, the wide and flat roads constantly extending in all directions, the demand for engineering and technical talents in the civil construction industry is also growing. In 2004, enterprises that entered various talent markets to recruit engineering and technical personnel involved 100 industries, among which the demand for talents in housing and civil engineering and construction industries has jumped to the top of talent markets in many cities. With the deepening of economic development, road network transformation and urban infrastructure construction, the demand for civil engineering technicians will continue to rise at present and in the future. Coupled with the upgrading of roads and bridges and urban infrastructure, as long as the talent market is not over-saturated, it can be said that the employment prospects of civil engineering technicians have been very good.

Design, planning and budget direction

Employment prospects: The demand for engineering designers from various survey and design institutes is increasing. As a new profession, urban planning needs more modern design and planning talents with the deepening of urban construction. With the rise of consulting industry, consulting service personnel in construction industry such as engineering budget and final accounts have also become new employment growth points in civil engineering industry.

There are about 200 schools of architecture and universities in the world. How do they rank? Let's take a look at the ranking of world architecture universities together, hoping to help the partners studying abroad in architectural design.

World Architecture University Ranking

Top 1 MIT

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a world-class private research university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

The Department of Architecture, founded in 1868, is one of the four earliest departments of MIT and the first school in the United States with a formal architecture course. Because the first dean, Vail, received the traditional architectural education from the Paris Institute of Arts and Crafts, the architecture department of MIT was originally based on this system. It was not until the 20th century that the school gradually transformed and began to be called the leader of modern architecture. Zhang Yonghe, the host of "Extraordinary Studio", took a series of reform measures in 2005, which changed the image of the architecture department of MIT, showing more diversity, inclusiveness and openness.

Top2 Manchester Institute of Architecture

Founded in 1996, Manchester Institute of Architecture is an innovative cooperation between Manchester University and Manchester City University. It is the largest school of architecture in Britain, which is jointly produced by the departments of architecture of two schools with more than 100 years of teaching experience.

Manchester Institute of Architecture is jointly run by Manchester City University and Manchester University, which combines the extensive teaching and research resources of Manchester Art College (Manchester City University) and School of Environment, Education and Development (Manchester University).

Courses offered by Manchester Institute of Architecture:

Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (Honours)

Master of Arts in Architecture and Urbanism

March-Master of Architecture

MLA-Master of Landscape Design

Top3 Delft University of Technology

Delft University of Technology is a university of technology with the longest history, the largest scale, the widest coverage and the strongest comprehensiveness in the Netherlands. Its major covers almost all fields of engineering science and is known as "MIT in Europe".

Top 4 Harvard universities

Charlie Eliot Norton, a professor of art history at Harvard University, opened his first architecture class at Harvard University in 1874, and the real architecture department was established in 19 13. Later, it was not until 1936 that a school of design was established, with three majors: architecture, urban planning and landscape design. The following year, Gropius taught this course, and successively trained I.M. Pei, philip johnson and others.

The School of Architecture of Harvard University is actually called the School of Design, which is commonly known as GSD (Graduate School of Design).

The School of Design includes Master of Architecture, Landscape Design, Urban Design and Urban Planning, and Real Estate.

Harvard University School of Design is a place full of development and creativity. Every student has his own studio station, regardless of grade and major, all over the slope. Quite spectacular!

Top5 Federal Institute of Technology Zurich

Zurich Federal Institute of Technology is a world-renowned top university of science and technology, and has been in the forefront of continental universities of science and technology for many years, enjoying the reputation of "the first prestigious university in Europe".

As one of the important teaching characteristics of the school, the close combination of architectural structure and architectural design has formed a unique system that is relatively independent, self-contained and not static, but always keeps all-round active exploration.

His famous "skin" theory (Bekleidungstheorie) is composed of famous architects Herzog and De Mellon (Herzog &: De Mellon's further deduction, in the last few decades of the last days, once again influenced the whole architectural world.
