Guanghua Building is a landmark building of Fudan University, which was built in 2005 on the occasion of Fudan's centenary celebration. It is listed as a major project in Shanghai and a world-class teaching complex. Guanghua Building, the whole building is as high as 142 meters, and is known as "the first building of colleges and universities in China", with a construction area of120,000 square meters, with 30 floors above ground and 2 floors underground. Its name is taken from the school name in the biography of Shangshu Yu Xia: "The sun and the moon compete for brilliance, and Fudan shines."
Fudan University, formerly known as Fudan College, was founded in 1905, and it is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning independently founded by the people in China. Shanghai Medical University, formerly the National Fourth Sun Yat-sen University Medical College founded by 1927, is the first national medical college independently founded by the people of China. In 2000, Fudan University merged with Shanghai Medical University to form a new Fudan University.
The main building of Guanghua Building consists of East Tower and West Tower respectively. The west building is dominated by the subjects of literature, history and philosophy, and the east building is occupied by science schools such as mathematics, including classrooms, research bases, office areas, student squares, teacher salons and other places for teacher-student exchanges, which greatly improves the conditions for teaching and research.
Fudan University provides a separate office for each professor, and the office area of each professor is about 20 square meters. There is a 15 floor between the two floors, namely the reading room and the reference room; The skirt building is symmetrical and suitable for all types of classrooms and lecture halls.
