Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts (English name: Academy of Arts & amp； Design (Tsinghua University), referred to as "Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts" or "Mei Qing", is an influential art design college in Tsinghua University, with a good reputation in art theory, art and design.

Formerly known as the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, the College was founded in 1956 1. 1957, the college is under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, and the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts is merged into the college. 1May, 1960, it was identified as one of the key art colleges of 12 by the Ministry of Culture. 1998 1, China light industry management cadre college merged into the college.

1998 the State Council was reorganized, and the State Light Industry Bureau, the competent department of the college, was merged into the State Economic and Trade Commission. In September, the college moved to Beijing. 1999165438+1On October 20th, the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts was formally merged into Tsinghua University and renamed as Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts.

As of March, 2002 1 1, the college has 1 teaching units, 25 undergraduate majors, 3 post-doctoral research stations, 3 first-class doctoral degree authorization points,1national key discipline (design art) and 3 Beijing key disciplines (design, fine arts and information art design).

The development of history

On June 1. 0956, the State Council officially approved the establishment of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. On June 1 1, the inauguration ceremony of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts was held in Baiduizi outside Fuchengmen, Beijing. Deng Jie, deputy director of the Central Handicraft Administration, is also the first president of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts.

At that time, the faculty of the college was composed of professional teachers from the Department of Practical Fine Arts of East China Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Department of Practical Fine Arts of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University and a number of overseas experts. The college has three departments of dyeing and weaving art, ceramic art and decoration design, and two teaching and research departments of painting and * * *.
