The Historical Contribution of Taizhou Radio and TV University
Taizhou Radio and TV University, founded in June 1979, is a comprehensive open university that uses modern teaching methods for distance education. For more than 20 years, Taizhou Radio and TV University has firmly grasped the two propositions of "openness" and "modernization" and actively carried out distance education, which has made outstanding contributions to Taizhou's economic and social development.

Over the past 20 years, RTVU has trained 8333 college graduates, accounting for about 40% of the total number of college graduates trained in our city in the same period. There are 16 RTVU graduates per 10,000 people in our city. It also trained 1293 middle school graduates. In addition, RTVU of our city also actively carries out non-academic education, undertakes continuing education and various job training tasks with relevant departments, and trains more than 70,000 students. In terms of specialty distribution, RTVU has filled the gap in training more than 30 senior and intermediate professionals in our city, and changed the shortage of accounting, finance, electronics, chemical engineering and other professionals in our city in the 1980s. It not only increased the proportion of the population receiving higher education in our city, but also provided strong intellectual support for our city to take the lead in taking off, and embarked on a road of cultivating higher specialized personnel suitable for Taizhou's regional conditions. RTVU trains applied talents who can adapt to the needs of social and economic development, and can be used and retained. After solving the problem of making up lessons for a generation delayed by the "Cultural Revolution", RTVU turned to train construction talents urgently needed by social and economic development to serve the improvement of the quality of the whole nation. In 1980s, RTVU trained a large number of talents for the economic construction and social development of our city, and in 1990s, it sent a large number of normal graduates to Jia Cun Township Middle School. Recently, in order to meet the demand for undergraduate talents in Taizhou, English, computer and other majors have been opened, making it one of the only two universities in Taizhou to offer undergraduate majors. Taizhou TV University graduates have made great contributions to all walks of life in our city. For example, in the 1980s, the graduates of Sanmen Transformer Factory were the most important technical force in the factory. They developed a number of new products and created huge economic benefits, and the enterprise also developed into today's large state-owned enterprise-Sanbian Group. In Taizhou Daily in the 1980s, most of the news reporters with college education or above were RTVU graduates. Qi zhou, a Chinese major in the 85th session, has grown from a boiler worker to the news editor of Taizhou Radio and Television Station. Huang Dongchu, a graduate of Xianju TV University, has published more than 3,000 works in newspapers, TV stations and radio stations at all levels, with 1 10,000 words, and was named "National Excellent Journalist". Xin Jinguo, a graduate of the 86th Huangyan Radio and TV University majoring in industrial statistics, is currently the vice president and master tutor of the School of Business Administration of Zhejiang Institute of Electronic Technology. Many graduates have become leaders of institutions, enterprises and institutions, and there are dozens of cadres at or above the county level. After twenty years' development, Taizhou Radio and TV University has formed a radio and TV education system with commercial power as the core and eight county-level TV university branches (workstations) as the foundation, covering the whole Taizhou area. At present, the total number of students in RTVU is 5372. From 65438 to 0998, the total enrollment of adult undergraduate and registered audio-visual students in RTVU was second only to Hangzhou and Wenzhou, ranking third in the province, and the growth rate was the first in the province. Taizhou Radio and TV University system has been in the advanced ranks in the province in terms of base construction, school scale, education and scientific research, student management, etc., and its development speed is among the best in the province. It has made great contributions to the creation of a strong education city.
