There are 9 teaching and research sections in the college, namely, basic veterinary department (veterinary pharmacology department, veterinary pathology department, animal anatomy and histology and embryology department), preventive veterinary department (veterinary infectious diseases department, veterinary microbiology department, veterinary parasitology department) and clinical veterinary department (surgical obstetrics department, internal medicine diagnosis department and Chinese veterinary medicine department). There are two animal hospitals, two centers (inside and outside the school 1), the quality supervision, inspection and testing center of livestock and poultry products of the Ministry of Agriculture (Guangzhou) and the veterinary science and technology research center; State Key Laboratory of Veterinary Drug Residues, State Laboratory of Veterinary Drug Safety Assessment (Environment), Key Open Laboratory of Animal Disease Prevention and Control of Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, Pharmacology and Toxicology Branch of China Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society, Veterinary Imaging Technology Branch (second-class academic group) and Small Animal Medicine Committee of Guangdong Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society are affiliated to Veterinary College.
