History of Shandong Agricultural University
Shandong Higher Agricultural School, founded in 1906 (thirty-two years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty), was founded in Sangyuan, Jinan, with three branches: agriculture, forestry and silkworm. Most students are scholars, and they can study abroad directly after graduation. 19 13 was renamed as Shandong Public Agricultural College. 1926, Zhang Zongchang, a warlord in Fengxi, merged five public agricultural colleges in Shandong, namely Agricultural College, Technical College, Business School, Mining College, Medical College and Law School, and established Shandong University, with its campus in Jinan, among which the public agricultural college became the Agricultural College of Shandong University. 1928, the school was closed due to the May 30th tragedy. In the same year, the Provincial Agricultural College of Shandong University was changed to the National Agricultural College of Shandong University and moved to Qingdao. 1937 Due to the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the school moved from Qingdao to Wanxian County, Sichuan Province. 1946 After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, it moved back to Qingdao and set up five colleges of literature, science, agriculture, engineering and medicine. At that time, the Agricultural College of Shandong University set up three departments of agronomy, horticulture and aquatic products and a farm. At the same time, Shandong Provincial Agricultural College was established in the former site of Jinan Public Agricultural College on 1947, with Yan Ruomin as the principal and Sangyuan in Jinan. There are four departments of agronomy, horticulture, forestry and agricultural economics, which were later renamed Shandong Agricultural College. * * * There are 120 students and 39 faculty members.

1948 when Jinan was liberated in September, the Chinese people's government accepted the former Shandong Provincial Agricultural College and Shandong Higher Agricultural Vocational School together. At this time, the Agricultural College has four departments of agronomy, horticulture, forestry and economics, with more than 200 students. 1948 In February, the Agricultural College organized by the Industry Department of Shandong Provincial People's Government was merged into the Agricultural College. In June of the same year, 10/0 was renamed Shandong Agricultural College, with departments of agronomy, horticulture, forestry, agrochemistry, irrigation and water conservancy, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and specialties of animal husbandry, surveying and mapping, hydrology and forestry. There are more than 500 students and 220 faculty members in the school. The fund (equivalent to RMB) is 65,438+065,438+08,956 yuan, and there are 345 mu of farmland and 65,438+0,200 mu of mountainous areas for teaching practice in Qianfo Mountain, Maanshan Mountain and Yanzi Mountain.

1952 In September, according to the opinions of the Ministry of Education on the adjustment of departments, Shandong Agricultural College merged with the then Agricultural College of Shandong University, and at the same time transferred to cheeloo university Agricultural College, Horticulture Department of Jinling University and Fruit Tree Group of Horticulture Department of Nanjing University to form a new Shandong Agricultural College with seven departments and seven majors, including agronomy, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, agrochemical, farmland water conservancy and plant protection. The New Agricultural College has gathered a large number of well-known experts and professors at home and abroad, including Chen Ruitai, Li Jiawen, Ding Jubo and Ching-Ho Wang. After decades of unremitting efforts, they have laid a solid foundation for the development and construction of schools and disciplines.

1953 1 1 In order to strengthen the party's political and ideological leadership over the school and ensure the supervision of the implementation of the party's principles and policies in the school, the Committee of Shandong Agricultural College was established with the approval of Shandong Branch. Huashan, secretary of the Party Committee, has five branches and party member 122 people, which has played a leading role in all the work of the school.

1954 Graduate students majoring in vegetables were recruited, and the practice farm was gradually expanded, covering an area of 7,024 mu (gate 56 in the northeast suburb of Jinan).

1958 according to the instructions of the provincial party Committee, the school moved to Taian, and Shandong Agricultural College, Shandong Forestry College, Shandong Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College, Taian Agricultural College and Taian Water Conservancy School merged to form Shandong Agricultural University. 1959 was renamed Shandong Agricultural College. The total area of the school is 1000 mu, and the farm land is 1472. 1 15 mu. 19 1, and part of it was returned to local farmers, leaving 847. 14 mu in Shan Nong, which was less than the farm area of Jinan in that year.

1960 fruit trees and vegetables are divided into two majors, and two departments of agricultural economic management and agricultural mechanization are added. 1962 the major of agricultural economic management stopped enrolling students, and the major of agricultural mechanization was merged into Shandong Agricultural Mechanization College (later renamed Shandong Institute of Technology, now established as Shandong University of Technology).

The sericulture major was approved by the Provincial Agriculture Bureau 1972 and the Shandong Education Bureau 1976 and 1978. The department of agricultural machinery and the department of agricultural economics resumed and began to enroll students. 1983 approved by the provincial department of education, new majors such as genetic breeding and agricultural education were added.

1In July, 1999, with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government, Shandong Agricultural University and Shandong Institute of Water Conservancy merged to form a new Shandong Agricultural University.
