The origin of sanjiang university's name can be traced back to 1902 "Sanjiang Normal School". Four retired or about to retire professors and cadres from Southeast University and Nanjing University initiated the establishment of "sanjiang university". /kloc-0 was formally established with the approval of the former State Education Commission in April, 1995, and was upgraded to an undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education in February, 2002, and was named "sanjiang university".

There are 14 secondary colleges with 49 undergraduate majors, covering disciplines such as literature, engineering, economics, management, science, literature and law, and establishing a professional system with coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

In 20 12, 87 key scientific research projects were declared, 45 projects were approved, 35 vertical projects (national 1, 33 provincial 1), horizontal projects 10, and scientific research funds were obtained 10 yuan, including 7470 vertical projects.
