Paul pelliot (1May 28th, 878-19451October 26th) is a world-famous French sinologist and explorer. I majored in English at the University of Paris, then went to the French Sinology Center to study Chinese, and then went to the National Oriental Language School, specializing in the language history of eastern countries. He studied under the French sinologist E.E. Shawan (1865- 19 18) and devoted himself to the study of China.

1908, he visited Dunhuang Grottoes in China and bought a large number of Dunhuang cultural relics and brought them back to France. Today, the French National Library Museum. Pelliot is a recognized leader in China studies in Europe and America, and his influence covers Europe, America, Japan and China. However, the communication between pelliot and China scholars was not a story of friendship at first, but began with the theft of Dunhuang treasures, which made China people indignant and regretted humiliating him.

These were all taken by Peliot at 1908.

This group of pictures comes from Les Grottes de Touen-houang, edited by French sinologist Pelliot. The book consists of six volumes, including the photos taken by the/kloc-0 delegation from Xinjiang to Dunhuang in 908, such as the location of the Mogao grottoes, the painted sculptures and murals of the grottoes (about 182 caves).

As far as Dunhuang Grottoes are concerned, the earliest comprehensive and detailed investigation was the work of an investigation team led by Frenchman Pelliot in 1908.

1908 On February 25th, pelliot delegation entered Dunhuang from Xinjiang. After they arrived at the Mogao Grottoes, they carried out cave numbering, surveying and mapping, photography and written records. The Peliot investigation team has been filming it for a hundred years. During this century, due to the relationship between nature, history and man-made, caves have undergone such changes. Some of them have even undergone fundamental changes. The color plastic murals that were intact at that time have long since disappeared, but they were accidentally preserved in the Catalogue of pelliot, which is very precious.
