Korean Confucius Institute gangwon
On February 5, 2007, Hanban signed a formal agreement with gangwon University to jointly build the Confucius Institute at gangwon University. On April 24th, the college held an unveiling ceremony.

Gangwon University, founded in 1947, is the largest national comprehensive university in gangwon. The school has 16 colleges, 5 graduate schools and affiliated general hospitals, 94 disciplines, more than 2,200 teachers and more than 24,800 students.

Gangwon University plans to offer Chinese classes, teacher training classes and business Chinese classes for primary and secondary school students and social workers on the platform of Confucius Institute, and hold lectures, performances, film screenings and teaching materials on China culture in winter camps and summer camps. At the same time, it plans to use the facilities of its online education center to offer online courses and provide Chinese translation for international activities held in gangwon.

Authorized by Hanban, Beihua University, as the specific executing agency, cooperated with gangwon University to build the Confucius Institute.
