Introduction to Northwest University Northwest University was founded by Mr. John Evans in 185 1 year. Its main campus is located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the suburb of Evanston, Illinois, near Chicago, the third largest city in the United States. There are also two directly affiliated campuses in Chicago and Doha, Qatar: Northwest University (Qatar). There are journalism schools, business schools, law schools and medical schools in downtown Chicago.
Northwest University ranks among the top ten in the United States and the top thirty in the world. Its dominant majors include business, law, medicine, journalism, chemistry, material science, mechanical engineering and so on. In addition, the medical schools, engineering schools, education schools and music schools of Northwest University rank among the top 20 in the United States all the year round.
Northwest University Campus Evanston Campus
Evanston Campus of Northwest University, including undergraduate colleges, graduate schools and business schools, runs along the north-south direction of Lake Michigan. In the north of the campus, there are the Student Union Building, Henry Crane Gymnasium and other sports facilities, technical research institutes, observatories and other science-related buildings, including the Ford Motor Company Design Center. There are humanities buildings, music buildings, art buildings and women's student union buildings in the south. This difference, coupled with the proximity of the south to downtown Evanston, makes the north and south of the campus have two different cultures.
Chicago campus
The Chicago campus of Northwest University has Medill Graduate School of Journalism, Medical College, Hospital, Law School, Business School and continuing education schools that provide evening and weekend courses for professionals. Its ward building is the first academic skyscraper in America.
Doha campus
In autumn 2008, Northwest University, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Georgetown University, Texas A&M University and virginia commonwealth university established a campus in Doha Education City. A journalism school and a communication school offer corresponding bachelor's degrees. The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development provides funds for the construction and management costs and salaries of 50 to 60 faculty members, some of whom will visit three campuses.
