Lingnan University has thirteen departments. Three courses are offered, covering humanities, business administration and social sciences, including eight honorary bachelor's degree courses. General education, Chinese and English are compulsory courses for college students. In addition, Lingnan University also offers 7 master's and doctoral programs with more than 2,200 students. College Features Lingnan University of Hong Kong (Lingnan University for short) is located in Woody, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, at the Lingnan section of Castle Peak Road. 1888 was founded in Guangzhou and gradually developed into a famous university in South China. After liberation, mainland universities were reorganized and Lingnan University was established in Hong Kong on 1967. Lingnan University is a university with fine scale, complete facilities and excellent teachers. It shoulders the special mission of promoting liberal arts education in Hong Kong and is determined to become an internationally renowned liberal arts university with Hong Kong characteristics. The liberal arts education of Lingda takes academic research as the classics and all-round development as the latitude to cultivate students' thinking, judgment and creativity to adapt to the ever-changing and progressive environment at home and abroad. Specifically, the liberal arts education in Lingnan University covers five aspects: (1) interdisciplinary course, diversified knowledge (focusing on cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural learning); (2) Small class teaching, harmonious relationship between teachers and students (each student has an academic tutor to give guidance); (3) International communication, broadening horizons (our school actively provides opportunities for undergraduates to communicate abroad during their studies); (4) Campus life is rich and colorful (rich extracurricular activities combined with dormitory life enable students to devote themselves wholeheartedly and integrate learning into life); (5) Community service (encourage and arrange students to actively participate in social practice and establish a correct outlook on life and values).
