The difference between independent enrollment and leading plan in Tsinghua University
The difference between Tsinghua University's independent enrollment and the leading plan lies in the different enrollment targets.

Independent enrollment target: excellent high school graduates with various specialties and innovative potential can apply for the exam. Leading plan: the enrollment target is "ordinary high school graduates with lofty aspirations, pursuit of Excellence, excellent academic performance, comprehensive quality, excellent academic performance, innovative potential and comprehensive academic performance ranking first in the whole year".

Self-enrollment, also known as self-selection, is an important link in the reform of college selection and admission. In 2003, China's Ministry of Education began to implement independent enrollment, ending the history that colleges and universities can only enroll students at the same time every year.

After high school graduates pass the exam, they can determine the admission places of interested universities in advance and enjoy preferential points reduction after taking the college entrance examination. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the number of self-enrollment can not exceed 5% of the total number of annual undergraduate enrollment plans of pilot schools. Selected candidates need to take the national unified examination, and the scores reach the admission control scores of the same batch of pilot schools determined by the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) where the students are located, and the provincial admissions office shall file with the pilot schools selected by the candidates; Pilot schools conduct comprehensive evaluation and independent selection and admission.

Independent enrollment in colleges and universities adopts the principle of "middle school recommendation is the main one, supplemented by individual recommendation". However, whether it is "recommended by middle schools" or "recommended by individuals", both middle schools and students must follow the principle of "honesty", apply and recommend according to the principles of fairness, justice and openness, and the application materials must be true.

School recommendation: Every year, major colleges and universities will give senior high schools some places for self-examination, which will be recommended to students according to their high school course scores and subject competitions. In fact, the better your grades and exam results are, the more awards you win, and the greater the chances of school recommendation. The number of places recommended by colleges and universities to middle schools is generally based on the number of people who have obtained independent enrollment qualifications in middle schools in 20 12 years.

Self-recommendation: Self-recommendation means that students write application materials (personal statements) and apply to the university for the qualification of independent entrance examination. There are also requirements here. Different universities have different regulations on the qualifications for independent enrollment. Generally speaking, the better and more famous universities have higher regulations. However, the following situations are usually found. Stylistic expertise, excellent market, good market, participated in the summer camp of the university and won excellent results and academic competitions.

The Leading Plan is an independent enrollment plan made by Tsinghua University. From 20 13, the excellent high school students who applied for the exam were investigated in the form of interview first and physical fitness test later. Students who have won the "Leading Program" will enjoy a maximum admission of 60 points in the college entrance examination (especially outstanding students can enjoy a preferential admission of up to one line) and a preferential policy of adding up to 30 majors.
