Yili normal university is located in Yili, south of the Great Wall. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Province and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The school's predecessor was Xinjiang Ili College, which was established in 1948. 1950, all other majors in the school were merged into Xinjiang University. /kloc-0 changed its name to Yili Normal School in 1953, and/kloc-0 was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college with the approval of the State Council in 1980, and was named yili normal university. 20 18 12, renamed yili normal university with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
