The new campus of the school is located at Tuanbo Lake in Jinghai District, Tianjin, covering an area of more than 2,600 mu and a construction area of more than 600,000 square meters. The campus is characterized by lake landscape, marked by traditional Chinese medicine vegetation, and centered on traditional Chinese medicine culture. It is a large Chinese medicine botanical garden, an advanced Chinese medicine science park and an international Chinese medicine education center with international influence.

The school has six disciplines, with Chinese medicine as the main body, and the coordinated development of medicine, science, literature, management, engineering and teaching. There are 28 undergraduate majors, including 3 national specialties, 19 municipal key construction majors.

Historical evolution of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

1958, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established.

1979, with the approval of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the college began to recruit graduate students.

1992, with the approval of the State Education Commission, China International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established, which belongs to the Chinese Medicine Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the Education Steering Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. It was called Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, it was officially renamed Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
